Art San Diego, the county’s premier contemporary fine art show, is moving downtown to the San Diego Convention Center for its 11th annual show Oct. 10-13. The show moves from the Wyland Center at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, where it has been the past two years. Art San Diego, with presenting sponsor UBS Financial Services, is highly regarded in the industry for cutting-edge exhibitions and dynamic programmings like Art Labs, Art Talks, the LaunchPad Artist, Spotlight Program and the San Diego Art Prize.
“Art San Diego has emerged as one of the best-attended cultural events in Southern California and continues to grow annually,” said Linda Mariano, Redwood Media Group’s director of marketing. “San Diego is one of the nation’s most vibrant urban cities—and the convention center is at the core of all the action. We’re excited to offer attendees and exhibitors this great new location complimented by the vibrant downtown setting with a rich variety of restaurants, retail stores and world-class entertainment in mere walking distance.”
Founded in 2009 as the first and only contemporary art show in San Diego, Art San Diego is a four-day art event that features more than 500 leading contemporary artists and offers dynamic programming that includes museum exhibitions, Art Labs, events, and Art Talks focused on collecting. Now in its 11th year, the four-day event attracts more than 15,000 attendees, including high-net-worth collectors. Art San Diego provides a focus on San Diego’s vibrant and diverse cultural art scene alongside an exciting collection of international galleries and artists.
New programs introduced last year that are back by popular demand are Free Friday, Palette of Desserts and Access to Art. Friday offers free admission to anyone from 1-5 p.m. Palette of Desserts is a partnership with local chefs and bakeries who draw inspiration from an artist’s to-be-exhibited piece and create a dessert masterpiece to be sampled. Access to Art partners the visual arts with San Diego based nonprofits, resulting in a sizeable donation for each during the four-day event.
SD Pride Parade Hosted Over 275 Contingents, 300,000 spectators and sold a record-breaking number of festival tickets.
Lee and London was honored to volunteer our time and PR experience for the 46th annual San Diego Pride, led by our own Chloe Janda!
We’ve been implementing strategic PR tactics all year for the parade and festival, including earning coverage across hundreds of media platforms and creating social media posts about the 5K. Thanks to the awesome PR and impressive marketing team, Pride broke attendance records for the entire weekend. Yeah, you heard that right, we broke records! For the first time in 46 years of SD Pride the festival made over ONE MILLION DOLLARS IN TICKET SALE!
The parade showcased over 275 contingents marching and parade attendees included over 300,000 people flooding the streets from Hillcrest to Balboa Park honoring the Stonewall generation and celebrating their unified LGBTQ+ community. The parade spectators went up 50,000 from 2018! Pride events featured the diversity and achievements of indigenous, black, trans, military, and Latinx folx, highlighting the 50 years of accomplishments of the community and paying tribute to Stonewall’s 50th anniversary.
“I can’t think of a better way to gain experience in public relations while supporting the San Diego LGBTQ community,” said McKenzie Jester, PR intern. “We were proud to celebrate and support our LGBTQ+ loved ones and acknowledging that this day is about them, their success, and their ongoing battles.”
The event packed week started on Saturday, July 6 with She Fest, a woman-centered event that celebrates and supports the talents and contributions of women, and ended on the festival main stage singing along to the infectious melodies of the rock icon and pioneer of queer rock music, Melissa Ethridge.
“To my LGBTQ fans in San Diego and around the world, I have so much to thank you for. You are proof that we can become the change we wish to see,” said Melissa Ethridge.
Sunday’s festivities include entertainment zones, local drag performances, community organizations and free community resources, youth organizations, dance areas, beverage gardens, visual art, vendor booths, educational and art exhibits, cultural presentations, free HIV testing, delicious food, and much more.
The music festival had over 50,000 attendees enjoying headlining acts King Princess, Mykki Blanco, Greyson Chance and RuPaul Drag Race Queen’s Aquaria, Asia O’Hara and Kim Chi. All proceeds from the festival and parade support San Diego Pride’s LGBTQ-centered philanthropy and year-round education and advocacy programs. The festival was unifying and celebratory for all in attendance. And just when we thought this week could not be more filled with kindness and love, we witnessed a marriage proposal!
We know how special San Diego is, but do you? Here’s what makes San Diego and SD Pride stand out among the rest. We are happy to report that San Diego was one of the only major cities across the world without any protests or any major incidents at the parade. Because SD is a city with a large military presence, integrating queer service members into the celebration was a must. At 9 a.m. on the morning of the Parade, 5K and Festival, history was made with a reenlistment ceremony of a trans service member of the Coast Guard, conducted by Major General Beevers in solidarity with the transgender community. During the parade, a 4 ship, F15 flyover from Cal Guard’s Fresno 144th Fighter Wing- another historic first- was conducted in honor of our transgender service members who bravely serve this country every day.
We watched transgender soldiers walk in unison, young children watch drag queens perform wide-eyed in amazement and parents line streets to hug LGBTQ youth to show they are not alone. While this week was long and draining at times, the impact these moments had on us was far more influential than any of us anticipated. It taught us lessons in kindness, work ethic and community unity. Lee and London is beaming with San Diego Pride!
I didn’t know what to expect working for a public relations firm this Summer. I had some ideas in mind…. maybe lots of writing? Social media blasts? Busy work? Running errands and getting coffee orders? Well, my first week on the job did include some of these, but it was far more exciting than I could have ever imagined. It didn’t include coffee runs, dry cleaning or answering phone calls. I was truly part of the Lee and London team and got hands-on experience from the creative and strong women behind L&L PR.
Lee and London was hired to provide PR support for the fifth annual ‘Sip the City,’ an event put on by the San Diego Urban Wineries (SDUW). SDUW is a coalition of wineries throughout San Diego County who take grapes from the country and create award-winning, unique wine in the city. My first week coincided with this wine tasting event L&L PR had been preparing for the past two months.
On my first day, I woke up at 5:50 a.m. (far earlier than any time I have woken up for class these past four years!) and met Corinne, a senior publicist, at Gianni Buonomo Vintners in Ocean Beach for a live FOX 5 segment with Tabitha Lipkin. We set up the back of the winery to display the bottles of different wines available at ‘Sip the City.’ We tasted a little wine and gave insight to the interviewees on different touchpoints to discuss on camera– I was feeling like a PR maven. If this is what public relations is like at L&L PR, COUNT ME IN!
My next work day was Friday, May 31st, the day of ‘Sip the City.’ I drove up to Seaport Village with a 6-by-7 carpet of artificial grass to help build and run the brainchild of L&L PR, the Rosé Garden. While we were not enlisted to produce the Rosé Garden, we became so obsessed with the idea that we ran with it! The Rosé Garden offered rosé tastings from 12 wineries at the event. After months of preparation, it was the L&L team’s turn to unWINE while we interns stepped up.
We poured, we drank (just a little obviously because we were working!) and we promoted the social media giveaway of four passports to San Diego Urban Wineries. The Rosé Garden gave people an opportunity to take pictures, sign up for the SDUW newsletter and drink rosé all day night!
I can’t promise every week will be like this with Lee and London, but my first week was wine I’ll never forget! Cheers!
Welk Resorts hosted its 4th Annual Spring Fling St. Patrick’s Family Festival in Escondido” March 16-17, giving families across San Diego County a chance to experience fun games, carnival rides, delectable Irish-themed cuisine, live music performances and more!
Needless to say, our team had a blast pitching this event! L&L PR secured great media coverage, including in-studio segments on News 8 and Fox 5 San Diego, where viewers saw a little taste of all the fun they could expect at the Spring Fling. The segments featured the event chef and mixologist who showcased enticing Irish-themed dishes like Shepard’s pie and cocktails, like an Irish Mule and Grasshopper, in front of a unicyclist and swinging trapeze artist!
This was Welk Resorts San Diego’s fourth consecutive year hosting the St. Patrick’s Family Festival and they were thrilled to offer the community a unique, festive and family-friendly experience. “It is always a joy to see families enjoying all of the awesome activities we offer at the Spring Fling event,” said Welk Resorts representative, John Pham. “From soaring above a sea of green on the circus trapeze to eating tasty Irish-themed food, there are so many fantastic ways to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day we are proud to provide.”

San Diego Pride executive director Fernando Z. An Unforgettable Night Fighting to End the Illegal Wildlife Trade
On Saturday, Nov. 10 I attended WildAid’s annual fundraising gala, “An Evening in China” at the Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel with the Lee and London team. As an intern, this was my first experience working a red-carpet event and I’m so glad it was for such an amazing cause.
WildAid, the global nonprofit leading the fight to end the illegal wildlife trade, brought out many stars and celebrity ambassadors to the gala. Danai Gurira and Bryce Dallas Howard were honored as this year’s Wildlife Champions for their partnerships and work with WildAid.
Gurira accepted her award and spoke about her childhood in Zimbabwe and her deep appreciation and connection to wildlife.
Other celebrities that came out to the gala in support of WildAid were Josh Duhamel, Michael Cudlitz, Maggie Q, Dylan McDermott, Bo Derek, Eli Roth and more.
The night kicked off with a cocktail reception and silent auction. As guests mingled and drank, stilt performers dressed as wild animals roamed around the auction, posing next to people for photos. One of the silent auction items, the Disco Shark (which even has its own Facebook page) sold for $18,000.
Afterwards, guests took their seats and enjoyed a three-course vegetarian meal prepared by celebrity Master Chef, Martin Yan. A live auction took place later in the evening, where over $1 million was raised. It was inspiring to see so many people generously donate to wild life conservation efforts amidst a tragic time in Los Angeles due to the Woolsey Fires.
The gala ended with some musical fun and entertainment from Grammy Award-winner David Foster. Foster brought out special guests, Pia Toscano and Sheléa, who performed a tribute to Whitney Houston and Celine Dion with some of their biggest hits. Jessi Collins, singer/songwriter, also took the stage with Foster to perform an original Warren song called “I’ll Fight.”
WildAid is the only nonprofit group that focuses exclusively on reducing the demand for illegal wildlife products through public awareness campaigns with various celebrity ambassadors. WildAid’s signature message is “When the buying stops, the killing can too.” Their campaigns have contributed to an 80% reduction in shark fin imports in China, a ban on ivory sales in China and a 50% drop in the price of rhino horn in China and Vietnam.
The Tony Award Winning show Mamma Mia makes its way to San Diego for a six month stay at the Walk Theatre-San Diego. The show implores pop group ABBA’s hits to tell the hilarious story of a teen’s search for her birth father on a Greek island paradise. We can’t wait to see this show!

On the weekend of July 13, our very own Chloe Janda volunteered her time to run the San Diego LGBT Pride PR campaign for the second year in a row. San Diego Pride is a nonprofit organization that sponsors a weekend long celebration, fostering pride and respect for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
Chloe volunteers her time and PR expertise to this organization and is passionate about social justice. As the PR manager, she helped facilitate dozens of media hits and news coverage for San Diego Pride.
San Diego Pride attracted about 300,000 people this year, increasing the attendance record by 40 percent. The three-day summer party included the San Diego Pride Parade, which is the one of the largest Pride parade in the United States. Other events included a music festival with performances by JoJo an TLC, a 5K run/walk, a rally with inspiration speakers and LGBTQ leaders, and the She Fest, a woman-centered event supporting the contributions of women in the community.
Chloe started volunteering for San Diego Pride in 2015. She minored in ethnic studies at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, which sparked her interest in social justice and equality.
When the PR manager position opened at San Diego Pride, she jumped at the opportunity to pair her passion and profession.
“I feel very lucky and privileged to be an ally to the LGBTQ+ community and being able to give back through volunteering my public relation skills,” said Chloe. “San Diego Pride is something I look forward to every year because I am always learning and reveling in the strength and pride of the community.”
They say a glass of wine a day keeps doctor away. Although at Vintage Hollywood, there was probably more than just one glass…
On June 9, Vintage Hollywood raised more than $200,000 at its annual food and wine tasting event, benefiting The People Concern, one of LA’s largest nonprofits fighting homelessness.
The fundraiser could not have come at a better time, as LAHSA just released the homeless count report. For the first time in four years, homelessness decreased. These kinds of events and support are what help organizations like The People Concern continue the fight against homelessness.
The event featured the trendiest California wineries and restaurants. Celebrities including Nichelle Nichols, David Arquette, Christina McLarty, Teri Hatcher and more came out to celebrate The People Concern’s 15-year community partnership with the Junior League of Los Angeles.
Stanley Black and Family hosted the unique and memorable event, including more than 30 of California’s most popular wineries and restaurants. Winemakers and proprietors poured their own wines on site, allowing guests to sip on a glass with the brains behind the bottles. In addition to the delicious wine and fare, there was live entertainment and a digital silent auction.
“We are grateful the Vintage Hollywood Foundation believes in the work we do so much that they chose us as the benefactor for this incredible event,” said John Maceri, executive director of The People Concern.
About The People Concern
One of Los Angeles County’s largest social services agencies, The People Concern is working to end homelessness through its proven approach that focuses on housing first with wraparound services. The People Concern provides a fully integrated system of care – including outreach, housing services, mental and medical health care, substance abuse services, life skills, and wellness programs – tailored to the unique needs of homeless individuals and victims of domestic violence. Ninety-five percent of those in housing supported with wraparound retention services will never be homeless again. This innovative evidence-based model has been proven in communities throughout Los Angeles County and recognized and replicated across the country.
About Vintage Hollywood Foundation
The Vintage Hollywood foundation was formed to raise funds to support charitable organizations, both large and small, that work to promote the health and well-being of Southern California’s diverse community. Since 2002, the Vintage Hollywood event has raised more than $3,500,000 to benefit organizations including Children’s Action Network, JDRF, Save the Children, United Friends of Children, OPCC and The People Concern.
I don’t know what we’re more excited about: Trace Adkins, 38 Special or Thunder from Down Under! Lucky for us, we may have a connection or two (wink, wink) so we can make it to all of these incredible concerts at Casino Pauma. Their new Entertainment venue is amazing – state-of-the-art sound and lighting to boot.

“An Evening With WildAid” featured a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception with silent auction. Recent WildAid campaigns such as the #JoinTheHerd initiative have brought together millions of people to speak out about the poaching crisis affecting African elephants. With an unrivaled portfolio of celebrity ambassadors – including Prince William and Yao Ming – and global network of media partners, WildAid leverages $289 million in annual pro bono media support with a simple message: When the Buying Stops, the Killing Can Too. Skateboarding World ChampionshipsReturn to South Africa Oct. 7-10
For the first time, top finishers of international and U.S. contests, including Dew Tour, X Games, U.S. Skateboarding Championships and Street League, to earn spots in World Championships
(Sacramento, Calif. – February 24, 2015) – World Skateboarding Grand Prix (WSGP) announced today that Kimberley, South Africa will once again host the Skateboarding World Championships, October 7-10, 2015. Thirty-eight countries and 250 skateboarders competed at last year’s event where Brazilian Kelvin Hoeffler beat some of the top names in skateboarding including Nyjah Huston, Tommy Fynn and Louie Lopez, to claim the world champion street title and a piece of skateboarding’s largest prize purse: $500,000.
This year’s Skateboarding World Championships are expected to draw the largest international field of any skate contest in history, with skaters from at least 50 countries expected to compete in five world championship events, including the Women’s Street Championships, Vert Championships, Big Air Championships, Rider Cup Team Championships and Men’s Street Championships.
This year for the first time, the Skateboarding World Championships will extend invitations to the top finishers of notable international contests like the Mystic Cup, Copenhagen Pro, the Turkish Skateboarding Championships, Bryggeriet Malmo and others around the world. Top finishers from U.S. contests, including X Games, Dew Tour, U.S. Skateboarding Championships and Street League, will also earn spots in the Skateboarding World Championships.
The 2015 Skateboarding World Championships will be held at the Kimberley Diamond Cup presented by Kumba Iron Ore, which runs from Wednesday, October 7 – Saturday, October 10 in Kimberley, South Africa. The vert and street contests are held at the permanent, state-of-the-art Kumba Skate Plaza that was built for the contests and subsequently donated to the community. The Plaza saw more than 14,000 visitors in 2014, not including the over 20,000 who attended last year’s five-day Kimberley Diamond Cup and Skateboarding World Championship events.
The World Skateboarding Federation (WSF) has sanctioned the World Skateboarding Championships and will provide financial assistance to help pay for travel expenses for skaters in countries without government, corporate or federation support.
In the U.S., it’s typically the sponsors who pay for the skateboarders to travel, but in the rest of the world it doesn’t work that way, according to Tim McFerran, CEO of World Skateboarding Grand Prix, who is also on the board of the newly created World Skateboarding Federation.
“It became evident to us last year that there is a lack of organization, funding and resources in many countries in getting their top skateboarders to international events,” McFerran said. “We are still in the beginning stages of developing a worldwide contest circuit that feeds into one final, year-end cumulative contest, the Skateboarding World Championships, and we have made amazing progress and received worldwide support for what we are trying to do. In addition to the international, country, regional and the invite-only U.S. contests, we anticipate that we will have at least 50 countries represented in the Skateboarding World Championships in South Africa this year. If you’re a top skater in your country then you deserve to be in the world championships, and with the support of the World Skateboarding Federation we will ensure you are able to get to South Africa to represent your country.”
Turkish skateboarder Cenk Kulioglu was one of 35 international skaters who received financial assistance for travel expenses from the World Skateboarding Federation in order to compete in last year’s Skateboarding World Championships.
“I was chosen from Turkey, to go to South Africa to participate in the Kimberley Diamond Cup in 2014. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had,” said Kulioglu. “WSGP puts on the biggest contests in the world and has the biggest prize purse. The format is the best and most exciting in skateboarding. When I got there I realized how professional a skateboard contest can be. Everything was perfect. It was always my childhood dream to take part in a contest this big. To be part of the Skateboarding World Championships and to have it broadcasted around the world was a dream come true. I’d like to say thanks to World Skateboarding Federation for making it possible for me to be there!”
In addition to providing funding for top skaters to get to major events like the Skateboarding World Championships, WSF is also committed to providing leadership and direction, to link up with and establish national skateboarding federations and assist with building quality skate parks around the world.

KIMBERLEY DIAMOND CUP PRESENTED BY KUMBA IRON ORE ANNOUNCES 2015 SCHEDULE
World Skateboarding Grand Prix today released the Kimberley Diamond Cup (KDC) presented by Kumba Iron Ore schedule for 2015. Hosted in partnership with the Northern Cape Provincial Government, the Kimberley Diamond Cup will feature three Grand Slam regional qualifying events and fourteen Skateboarding for Hope community outreach initiatives leading up to skateboarding world championships event in Kimberley in October 2015.
Ok, fine, it was a BABY lion…but it still stung pretty good and left an awesome bruise!
So why was I in Africa? I was there with our client World Skateboarding Grand Prix, the leading global skate events management company, which runs the Skateboarding World Championships that were held in 2014 at the Kimberley Diamond Cup in the former diamond-mining town of Kimberley, South Africa (Phew! That was a long sentence…)
It was my third visit to South Africa, but it was the first time I was able to visit the townships and interact with the local kids at the skate clinics we hosted. It was an incredible experience to witness how something as simple as a board with four wheels can positively affect so many lives. World Skateboarding added a women’s event to the championships this year and some of the top female skateboarders –Elissa Steamer, Lacey Baker, Alexis Sablone, Kat Williams, Marisa Dal Santo and Alana Smith — visited two townships outside Kimberley to give skate clinics to the local kids. Hundreds of kids flocked to the dirt lot where we set up a makeshift skate park and it was incredible to see how many young girls quickly jumped on the boards and showed no fear.
For the first time, 37 countries had skaters represented in the world championships and I got the chance to meet some of the best from around the world: Nassim Guammaz from the Netherlands, Tommy Fynn from Australia, Tom Knox from the UK, and of course Nyjah Huston from the US (I actually met Nyjah for the first time back in 2009 at the Maloof Money Cup in Orange County when he was 14 years old and had long dreadlocks — I’ll never forget him tearing up when he placed second to Chris Cole after coming back from behind and ending the contest with a PERFECT run. He has come a long, long way since then) — there were so many rad skaters there that you don’t see every day. And superstar rapper/mogul Lil Jon was on hand to perform at the closing night concert, featuring the biggest bands from South Africa and an incredible fireworks show. It was hands-down the best skate contest I’ve personally ever seen. We’re really excited to have such an incredible client in World Skateboarding Grand Prix, and we admire their commitment to make a difference in the lives of youth around the world. We can’t wait for 2015 — we’ve got some exciting announcements we’ll be making soon, so stay tuned!!!!!

(Sacramento, Calif. – August 19, 2014) – World Skateboarding Grand Prix (WSGP) announced today it will expand in the US next summer, bringing at least three qualifying events to cities across the US, culminating in the first-ever US Skateboarding Championships.
The events will include an individual street style contest as well as the Rider Cup team contest. The individual winners and the winning Rider Cup team will earn trips to compete in the 2015 World Skateboarding Championships.
The official location and dates will be announced in the coming months as WSGP seeks qualified bids from cities in the US, split into four geographic areas.
An unprecedented 70 countries were invited to send their best skaters to this year’s Skateboarding World Championships in Kimberley, South Africa Oct. 2-5 where an expected 250 skateboarders will compete for the $500,000 prize purse. The location for the 2015 World Championships will be named by the end of the year.
“We are excited about the expansion into the US market. It’s been 20 years since a national skateboarding contest was held here, and with the growth of skateboarding globally, it only makes sense to bring a true national championship to the US. We’ll be utilizing the same fast-paced format that we’ve become known for, so we anticipate a very competitive series,”said Tim McFerran, president of World Skateboarding Grand Prix.
East Coast Skate Legend Steve Rodriguez, who recently produced the Rider Cup NYC series for WSGP, says the US championship will be a welcome addition to competitive skateboarding.
“A truly inclusive championship-level event here in the US is the logical evolution of contest skating,” said Rodriguez. “To have both an individual and team championship is a really progressive concept. WSGP is known for exciting head-to-head contests that constantly push the skaters to elevate their skating, which in turn makes for a better contest atmosphere.”

Grand Slam Series to Include Three Qualifier Events Culminating in Turkey Skateboarding Championships in Istanbul on May 31, 2015
(Sacramento, Calif. – August 5, 2014) — World Skateboarding Grand Prix (WSGP) today announced it will bring the Grand Slam series of skateboarding contests to Turkey in 2015, culminating in the first-ever Turkey Skateboarding Championships in Istanbul on May 31.
The Grand Slam series will stop in Ankara, Antalya and Istanbul, giving local skateboarders a chance to earn a spot in the Turkey Skateboarding Championships. The Grand Slams will feature qualifiers for both individual skateboarders as well as the Rider Cup team skateboarding contest. The winners from each Grand Slam contest and the winners from the Rider Cup team contest will then battle it out for a cash prize and championship title in the first-ever Turkey Skateboarding Championships in Istanbul on May 31, 2015. In addition, the winning individual and team will earn the chance to represent Turkey in the 2015 Skateboarding World Championships in Kimberley, South Africa.
“I was so stoked when first I heard that WSGP will bring this international skateboarding event to Turkey,” said Erdem Kavla, a rider for the first Turkish skateboard company, Glovs. “For a long time, we’ve been trying to get skateboarding respected here, and these kind of international events help us reach a bigger audience in our country. I hope this will be the first, but not the last, major skateboarding event in Turkey. I will be attending the contest as a rider and hope to win some cash and have a chance to go to the World Championships in Kimberley, South Africa.”
“We are excited about the expansion of WSGP into Turkey, where the sport is growing tremendously and is in a position to benefit from a championship event that will not only put Turkey on the global stage but will help to further support and grow the local skateboarding industry,” said Tim McFerran, president of WSGP.

The World Skateboarding Rider Cup New York begins this weekend with the first contest kicking off Saturday, July 12 at noon at the Lower East Side (L.E.S.) Skatepark in Manhattan. The Rider Cup Team Championships run for six consecutive Saturdays, stopping in each of NYC’s five boroughs: Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. Local skateboarders form crews of four to represent their boroughs and compete in a jam style contest for a shot at a $10,000 cash prize plus airfare and accommodations to South Africa to compete in the World Skateboarding Rider Cup world championships during the 2014 Kimberley Diamond Cup.
Individual team members compete in one section of the skatepark and are judged head-to-head based on the number of tricks landed, difficulty of tricks and overall impression. The winning team from each borough will receive a $2,000 cash prize and advance to the finals where the top 12 teams will compete at L.E.S. Skatepark in Manhattan on August 16, for the $10,000 first place cash prize.
“This event is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time; it’s an exciting new type of contest for the skateboarding industry,” said Tim McFerran, president of World Skateboarding Grand Prix. “While skateboarding is generally perceived as an individual event, when you add a team element where you’re representing your town and competing against other great skaters from different towns, it brings a whole new level of excitement. At the World Championships in South Africa this year, the Rider Cup contest will add a whole new dimension as teams from several countries will represent their hometowns to be crowned world champion. We look forward to growing this event and bringing it to countries around the world.”
The 2014 WSRC Team Championships NYC competition schedule is as follows. All contests begin at noon:
1. Saturday, July 12, 2014: Manhattan Qualifier at L.E.S. Skatepark
2. Saturday, July 19, 2014: Bronx Qualifier at River Ave Stakepark
