W Hotel San Diego

Intimacy bra boutique approached Lee & London when they decided to open their first West Coast store in 2009. Their goal was not only to successfully launch their store but also establish their brand and reputation in Southern California. Intimacy again turned to Lee and London to launch two additional stores in Orange County and Los Angeles.

Our team earned hundreds of targeted media hits for Intimacy across print, broadcast, radio and online in a variety of outlets— from fashion features and retail trade articles on their business model, to local, national and celebrity media.

We inked Intimacy in Los Angeles Times, TODAY Show, People Magazine, Daily Candy, Access Hollywood Live, E! News, EXTRA and hundreds more.

We worked with such notables as:

Barack Obama, Rob & Big, Macy Gray, Katy Perry, Rose McGowan, Kevin Spacey, Michael Bay, La Danian Tomlinson, Tim Burton, Tom DeLonge, The Rock, Russell Crowe and many more.

Results:

– Reached an audience of over 800 million

– Earned an estimated $20 million in media value

– Placed nearly 1,200 print, online, TV and radio spots

– ROI of over 108xs the PR investment

Arterra Restaurant

Unhappy with the results of their national media relations firm, the award-winning Arterra Restaurant in the Marriott Del Mar turned to Lee and London team members to refresh their reputation and bring in the young, hip So Cal crowd when they launched their new Outdoor Lounge. Before their first anniversary, our PR efforts led to a packed bar, event-driven overnight stays, a sold out restaurant and increased F&B revenue.

After the launch, our team continued to promote Arterra’s local, fresh and seasonal menus, property-wide events, and happy hour specials year-round. Our team introduced Arterra chefs to national, regional and local media; arranged appearances at the James Beard house in NYC; secured a 15-minute live interview on Martha Stewart Living radio and kept the restaurant top of mind with a steady stream of media features and awards.

Each year, our PR efforts:

– Reached more than 55 million in total audience

– Earned an estimated $1.1 million in publicity value

– Averaged 14 print/online articles, television or radio segments a month

– Documented ROI of more than 45 times the PR investment

Big Bear Mountain Resorts

Lee & London team members managed public relations for Big Bear Mountain Resorts (Snow Summit and Bear Mountain) for four seasons. One unique challenge was the shortage of snowfall during those seasons, which were among the driest on record. With a state-of-the-art snowmaking system in place, the challenge became educating the public that man-made snow IS real snow.  We started by educating the media and specifically weather reporters by hosting media days early in the season where we offered tours of the snowmaking system.

Another challenge was getting the media to refer to the resorts as the proper name: Big Bear Mountain Resorts, rather than just saying “Big Bear” or “Big Bear Mountain.” We sent each media member a care package at the beginning of each season with a list of “Quick Facts” on the resort as well as snow season, in general. Coupled with our media days, we were able to establish personal relationships with the key reporters so when they did use the wrong name, we’d simply shoot them a quick e-mail to again clarify the proper name.

In addition to ongoing PR for both mountains, our team was tasked with promoting individual events and contests, which totaled over 30 each season. We worked with sponsors like ThirtyTwo, Paul Mitchell, etnies and more to ensure our teams coordinated press coverage to maximize resources. From feature articles, to appearances on broadcast morning news, on average, our team earned secured more than 300 pieces of coverage each season.

Perhaps the best example of our work is that the in-house PR rep for etnies at the time, after working with our team on an event at Bear Mountain, hired us on to promote their eS Game of Skate contest in 12 cities across the U.S.
